FASD: Screening and Assess­ment

Overview

This advanced customized workshop will assist professionals to identify and screen for FASD in their client population. Using evidence-based tools for screening and best practices for clinical interviewing, this interactive workshop will enhance the skills of service providers to identify those with suspected FASD on their caseloads. Participants in this workshop will further learn how to gather the relevant information needed to confirm alcohol exposure. Next steps for case management and support will be discussed. Workshop participants will apply new and existing knowledge through small group activities and role plays.

• Identify individuals with suspected FASD on their caseloads.
• Learn when and how to use various evidence-based screening tools.
• Gather relevant information about prenatal alcohol exposure from a variety of sources.
• Assist clients in planning next steps after screening.
